Region: Kerinci Valley, West Sumatra Producer: Camintoran Cooperative Altitude: 1,250 - 1,600 masl Variety: S Lini & Caturra Processing: Natural Tasting Notes: Blueberry, Grapes, Juicy Body About: Coffee cultivation in Indonesia dates back to the Dutch colonial period in the late 1600s and has remained a cornerstone of the country's agricultural landscape ever since. Indonesia, made up of around 18,000 islands, is now one of the world’s largest coffee producers, with most coffee grown by smallholder farmers managing less than two hectares of land. This particular coffee comes from the Kerinci Valley in central Sumatra, near the lush Kerinci Seblat National Park - home to tropical rainforests and one of the last strongholds of the Sumatran tiger. The farms are situated on the fertile volcanic slopes surrounding Mount Kerinci, Indonesia’s highest volcano. Produced by the Camintoran Cooperative, a group of 162 dedicated farmers, this micro-lot of S-Lini and Caturra varieties was naturally processed, with cherries hand-sorted and sun-dried. The result is a beautifully sweet cup, with pronounced fruity notes of grape and blueberry.

Hario V60

15g coffee with 50g of water. Wait 30 secs for bloom. Add 200g (250g total) of water. Swirl and wait 2-3mins for extraction.

Chemex 6 cup

30g coffee with 60ml of water. Wait 30 secs for bloom. Add 420ml of water. Swirl and wait 2-3mins for extraction.

Aeropress

11g coffee with 200ml of water. Agitate and place plunge on top to create a seal. Wait 2 min 30 sec. Swirl and plunge for 30 secs.

Plunger

30g coffee with 500ml of water. Wait 5 minutes. Agitate. Plunge after 5 mins and 10 secs.
